EISEF's MissionThe Eastern Iowa Science & Engineering Fair will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids. We expect to host about 250 junior high and high school students from the eastern third of Iowa. They will be competing for 100 to 200 awards, and the best two of them will win our biggest prize: a trip to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF). The ISEF is the premiere science fair in the United States and attracts the brightest science and math students from all over the world. The Challenge for 2008The Fair is all about the students: encouraging them to study science and engineering, motivating them to perform experiments, and giving them a fun place to exhibit their results. The 2007 Fair cost $13,500 to put on, 61% of which went to the students as prizes in one form or another (see chart)—and every dollar was raised through private contributions. The 2008 Fair will cost about that much—and your contribution will help us meet that cost.
