Society for Science & the Public Website
The Society for Science & the Public is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and appreciation of science among people of all ages through publications and educational programs. This site includes information on the International Science and Engineering Fair, the Intel Science Talent Search, the Broadcom MASTERS, and the Directory of Science Training Programs.
International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)
Each year, EISEF sends up to three student projects to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which is the world’s largest pre-college celebration of science. Held annually in May, the ISEF brings together over 1,200 students from 40 nations to compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prize: $50,000 college scholarship and a high-performance computer.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovator Challenge
The national science, technology, engineering, and math competition for U.S. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, the Broadcom® MASTERS® (Math, Applied Science, Technology, and Engineering for Rising Stars), a program of Society for Science & the Public, inspires and encourages the nation’s young scientists, engineers and innovators.
State Science & Technology Fair of Iowa (SSTFI)
The SSTFI is the state science fair for Iowa. The SSTFI is affiliated with the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge (DYSC), for students in grades 6 through 8, and with the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), for students in grades 9 through 12.
