Status of Projects
Answers to questions about your EISEF project
Did EISEF receive the online registration I made on the Student Registration Form?
The table below shows the status of all the registration we’ve received so far. We expect to update it every couple of days, when we receive new registrations online or new project paperwork is uploaded. If your project appears in the table at all, we received it.
Why does my project show up more than once?
Because you, or somebody, submitted it more than once. Maybe you found an error in what you submitted first, so you fixed it and submitted it again. Maybe you had printer trouble with the Signature Page, and you had to resubmit the project. Maybe you, your teacher, and your partner all submitted the project without checking with each other. These things happen.
Don’t worry. The Signature Page has a date-time stamp (in the upper right), so we can tell which online registration it goes with. When we receive the Page with your signatures, we’ll save that registration and delete all your others.
Did my signed paperwork arrive?
If your project’s status is Accepted, we received your paperwork and everything was in order. If its status is Pending, then either we haven’t received your paperwork or something is wrong with it. If something is wrong, we’ll contact your adult sponsor or you to correct the problem.
Will you be ready for me on Fair Day?
If your project’s status is Accepted, we’re expecting you on Fair Day.
I want to bunch all the projects for my adult sponsor or school together. How can I do this?
Sort the table based on that column. Just click on the “sort link” at the top of the column, and you’ll bring all the projects of a single kind together.
How do I check in my exhibit on Fair Day?
Starting in 2024, you have two ways to do it:
Online: In the early hours of Fair Day, we’ll send an email to you and your adult sponsor, inviting you to check in online — you can confirm whether you’ll be attending (or not) before your bus reaches Lindale Mall. If you do this, you’re free to go directly to your division area and find your exhibit table.
Check-in desk: If you didn’t receive the email, couldn’t check in online, forgot your exhibit number, need a chair for medical reasons, or have questions, visit our Student Check-in desk; the clerks there will be happy to help you.
What does the “Exh.# /Div.” column mean?
That’s “Exhibit number or Division”.
The divisions are Junior Biological science (JB), Junior Physical (JP), Junior Teams (JT), Senior Biological (SB), and Senior Physical (SP).
The exhibit number is the address on your exhibit table. It’s just the division followed by a 2-digit serial number, like JT99. (Senior team exhibit numbers include a ‘T’, for example SB99T. Unlike the junior teams, they aren’t in a separate division.)
What do the terms mean in the “Status” column?
Pending: You submitted your online Student Registration Form; we’re still waiting for your signed Signature Page and any signed certificates your project needs. When we receive your paperwork and make sure it’s all in order, we’ll change your status to Accepted.
Accepted: Everything is in order. We received your registration, your signed Signature Page, and all the other signed certificates your project needs; and we’ve approved the information in the paperwork. We’ll be expecting you with your exhibit at Student Check-in in Lindale Mall at 8:00 AM on March 15, 2025.
Disqualified: You broke the rules; we won’t permit you to check in or exhibit at the Fair. Some things that will disqualify you:
You needed prior approval from an SRC or IRB and didn’t get it.
You needed a qualified scientist and didn’t have one.
You did your experiment in an unsafe manner or in an unapproved location.
Your paperwork was incomplete (missing signatures or information) or arrived too late.
Dropped: You entered, then later told us you changed your mind and won’t attend this year’s EISEF.
