ISEF 2018: Wednesday
Pittsburgh Welcome Night

photo, picture, image, science fair

Carnegie Science Center is all wet

Wednesday evening, ISEF took over the Carnegie Science Center and Heinz Field for our entertainment.

Here we have a simulated display of all the fluids in a human body.

Speaking of fluids …

… the Science Center has a cruise ship. Meet the USS Requin, a submarine completed too late to take part in the Second World War. Since 1990 she’s been docked here.

A really cool demonstration

Iowa audience members include (l–r) Gail Kunch, Bailey Beckman, Jenna Andersen (plaid shirt), Aaron Wills, Alicia Schiller.

But what are the museum staffers concocting?

Liquid nitrogen smoothies

In two different flavors, in fact.

Seen in the museum gift shop.

“Greetings, Martians! I come in peace, bearing gifts.” (Gail Kunch never did tell us who she bought all that swag for.)
