COVID-19 continued to loom over Iowa America the Earth, with no sign that we could safely hold EISEF in Lindale Mall on March 20, 2021. So at the December 2020 meeting, the EISEF board decided to hold the fair online, just like in 2020: the students would upload videos of them presenting their projects; our judges would view the videos and evaluate the projects. Just like all the other science fairs, including ISEF, SSTFI, and WISEF.
Two things made it easier than in 2020:
- We had the experience from 2020 of running an online science fair.
- In 2020 we had 9 days to plan and implement the online fair; in 2021 we had over 9 weeks.
