Here’s what you need to do:
- Read the For Students And Teachers page and follow its directions.
- Check the Forms Guide to find out what forms and certificates you need to fill out and when.
- Finish your experiment and complete your paperwork.
- Visit the ProjectRegistrationForm, follow the link, fill out the form and submit it.
- Send us copies by email of your Student Entry Signature Page and all your other paperwork. The deadline is March 2, 2020.
- Check the status of your entry on the Status of Student Entries page.
- Bring the originals of all paperwork with you to the Fair on March 21, 2020.
What about the statewide registration system?
In December EISEF withdrew from the statewide system, for 2 reasons:
- We asked SSTFI to add to their registration system, to meet our needs. By December it began to look as if the additions wouldn’t be ready for 2020.
- We realized that even with our additions, the result would be unsatisfactory: unwieldy, hard to use, hard to fix when problems arise.
We withdrew with a heavy heart. Iowa’s adult sponsors have (understandably) been pleading for a single science fair registration, to reduce their workload. In the past two years, the website maintainers at SSTFI and EISEF have worked hard toward the statewide system. It was an exciting dream, but it’s not to be, anytime soon.
